Walking and Biking

Pythagorion is a paradise for bikers and mountain bikers. Away from the main roads you find all possibilities of biking sports: small dirt roads in the highlands of Mitilini, green forests around Pandrosos, and demanding routes in the mountains of Mavratzei, Pagondas, and Spartharei.

You can rent good mountain bikes on the main road in Pythagorion and in Ireon. In the mountain villages you can find fresh water from springs.

You need a good roadmap like Road Editions 210, walking books from Sunflower or Rothers.

Walking on Samos is a very old tradition. The mountains Kerkis and Karvounis offer routes of all difficulties. There are small footpaths along lonely beaches, in green forests, and to the mountains peaks.

Around Pythagorion you find paths with wonderful sea views, in green forests, and steep rocks. Walk around the small mountain villages, to the windmills of Pythagorion, to the highlands of Mitilini, or to the amazing river valley of Mili.
